Dhanush facing backlash from Tamil Audience

Tamil Star actor Dhanush on Tuesday announced that his upcoming action movie Naane Varuven will release in cinemas worldwide on September 29.

This renowned award-winning actor took to Twitter to share the opening date of the Tamil psychological action thriller movie. “Naane Varuvean #sep29 worldwide,” he wrote alongside the poster of the film.

Dhanush’s brother, filmmaker-writer Selva Raghavan, has directed Naane Varuvean. The director has previously given us Thulluvadho Ilamai, Kadhal Kondein, 7G Rainbow Colony, Pudhupettai, and Mayakkam Enna. Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the music for these films.

Usually, Dhanush is loved by the Tamil audience and they hail him as a great actor. But now he's facing criticism for releasing his movie in competition with the most awaited Magnum Opus and the legendary director Mani Ratnam's dream project "Ponniyin Selvan (PS-1)".

From the announcement itself, Ponniyin Selvan has raised humongous expectations across "Pan India" and the audience is eagerly waiting for the movie's release. But now with Dhanush - Selva Raghavan's combo movie announcing its release date "Naane Varuvean" one day before PS-1, the Tamil audience is not impressed with the brothers.

But few folks who are okay with the release give festival season as a reason and say two movies can be allotted theaters amicably without any problem. Naane Varuvean is also releasing in Telugu simultaneously, with the title 'Nene Vasthunna' by the prestigious Geetha Arts.

Dhanush has played a dual role in the movie while Sri Raghava also appears in a special role. Elli AvrRam and Indhuja are the leading ladies in the movie. Kalaippuli S Thanu’s V Creations bankrolled the film.

Meanwhile, The makers of Dhanush-starrer Sir (Vaathi) on Monday also announced the release date of his Tamil-Telugu bilingual. His last big screen outing was the hit film Thiruchitrambalam.
