Analysis

The story of Waltair Veerayya is predictable and we can guess the proceedings but what made the film engaging is the packing of commercial elements by director Bobby. He made sure that he presents Megastar Chiranjeevi entertainingly which enthralls the fans and audience.

Also, Bobby was successful in putting the right twists at the proper moments. However, to make sure that he presents Chiranjeevi in perfect manner, he missed a few tricks in the narration. The first half takes off interestingly with an emotional setup. After that hero introduction too comes good. But when the scene shifts to Malaysia, scenes look odd for a while, making the interest derail. But the film picks for pace from a superb interval episode.

The second half continues the same pace with the entrance of Raviteja. The combination scenes between Raviteja and Chiranjeevi were a treat to watch, and the sentiment angle between them also came well. After that, the narration goes on a bit flat mode towards climax, but the entertainment provided until then was satisfactory.

Performances:

Chiranjeevi nailed it, and he once again proved that he can mesmerize his fans and others with his outstanding comedy timing. Coming to emotional episodes, Chiranjeevi’s performance is perfect. Ravi Teja gets a meaty role, though for a limited screen time he entertains with his finest display.

Shruti Haasan looks as they limited her for few scenes and songs, but there's a little surprise factor for her character. Another heroine, Catherine Tresa is decent in her given role. Bobby Simha justifies his character as the brother of a drug mafia leader. The rest of the cast, including Prakash Raj, Rajendra Prasad, Vennela Kishore give their best.

Technical Aspects:

Devi Sri Prasad has given good songs, especially Poonakalu Loading and Boss Party songs are good to watch on the big screen. Background music was also useful. Dialogues were neat, and Camera Work was perfect.

Plus Points:

Chiranjeevi

Interval episode

Chiranjeevi and Raviteja combo scenes

DSP BGM and 2 songs

Minus Points:

Predictable Story

Few odd moments in first half

Flat moments before climax

Final Note:

Waltair Veerayya is a good commercial entertainer which has enough moments which entertain the fans of Megastar Chiranjeevi and the normal audience as well. Watch it for a perfect treat on the festival weekend.
